Die Erzählung
The Colossus of Rhodes was a bronze statue of the sun god Helios at the harbour of Rhodes in Greece.
It was raised in the early 3rd century BC to commemorate the repulse of a siege.
At about 33 metres it was counted among the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
It fell in an earthquake about 54 years after it was built.
